Heavy Vehicle Garage - Singapore
One of the challenging requirements for this Heavy Vehicle Garage building was to fit into two sites separated by a highway and still keep functioning as one whole building.
The solution proposed was a building/bridge connecting the two sites. This is the DM2 version with round corners and long horizontal double storey openings, much like an horizontal and elongated version of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Johnson Wax Research Tower from 1944.
The concept evolved and was jazzed up into this curvaceous form reminding me of an horizontal and elongated version of Oscar Niemeyer’s Copan Building from 1952 in downtown São Paulo, Brazil.
